The Leicester four-piece Kasabian covered indie pop songstress Lana Del Rey last year and now she has repaid the favour, much to my delight.

Last year I saw Kasabian headline the final night of Isle of Wight Festival 2011 and named their third studio album Velociraptor! as one of my top albums in Insight into 2011. The psychadelic British rockers also covered Lana Del Rey‘s ‘Video Games’ at BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge Student Tour 2011.

They are currently fresh from their performance at Coachella 2012 and will be starting their extensive tour of European festivals in June. Kasabian will be performing in the UK this summer at T in the Park and Reading and Leeds Carling Weekender and have already been announced for Glastonbury 2013.

Recently, the band released their cover of ‘Video Games’ as part of Record Store Day 2012. You can watch a video of Kasabian performing the track live below.

Lana Del Rey played her haunting cover of Kasabian‘s song ‘Goodbye Kiss’ as part of Radio 1 Live Lounge. She also performed the single ‘Blue Jeans’ from her smash hit 2012 album Born To Die. You can listen to the first part of her Radio 1 interview with Fearne Cotton here.

The lovely sadcore New Yorker has been named as the first artist to perform at The Voice live shows in the UK. Though she is known for having problems performing live, as seen on Saturday Night Live which sprouted Kristen Wiig’s parody of her.

Following her US tour which kicks off in June, British fans will be given plenty of opportunities to see her as she tours European festivals. Lana Del Rey will be in the UK this summer playing at LoveboxIsle of Wight FestivalBBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekender and Latitude Festival.
