Ex-Beatle and former Wings frontman Sir Paul McCartney directed the video for his new single ‘My Valentine’ from his fifteenth studio album Kisses on the Bottom. The video was premièred late Friday (13th April) night in Los Angeles.
The video starred two actors miming, doing sign language and playing along to Paul McCartney‘s track. The two actors just happened to be the talented Natalie Portman who previously featured in McCartney’s 2007 video ‘Dance Tonight’ and maturing heartthrob Johnny Depp.
The debut screening of ‘My Valentine’ on Friday night was held at Stella McCartney‘s L.A. boutique where an odd array of stars mingled together for the viewing. The power couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin were out with Dave Grohl, Gwen Stefani and Zooey Deschanel representing the music industry. All alongside actors from Jane Fonda to a pregnant Reese Witherspoon and the teen queen Kristen Stewart.
Paul McCartney has five previous directing credits and no expense was spared in the production of this video. The award-winning Wally Pfister (Dark Knight, Inception) committed the visuals to 35 mm film, was among the team.
Johnny Depp has been seen making some unusual cameos lately, he also played guitar alongside Marilyn Manson during his hit track ‘The Beautiful People’ at The Revolver Golden Gods Awards on Wednesday (11th April). The enigmatic actor has been wooing diverse music audiences this week and we look forward to seeing what he does next.
What do you think Johnny Depp‘s next cameo should be? Can you do sign language? Can you also make it look sexy? Inform me!
