French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier is this year’s creative director for Diet Coke. In our latest news from the world of cool, kooky and quirky he has now launched special edition bottles which he has given a haute re-vamp and features in the new promo videos with puppets.

The two new bottle designs incorporate the iconic imagery of Jean Paul Gaultier‘s his and her’s fragrances. ‘Day’ has the nautical theme and stripes, which are the couturier’s personal signature, while ‘Night’ is imbued with the sensuous curve of a nude-coloured corset.

The new styles were unveiled on Thursday (12th April) night and the designer was given a helping hand as the British actress, Gemma Arterton (Clash of the TitansTamara Drewe) donned a corset to promote the event. While the actress represented the ‘Night’ bottle, Jean Paul Gaultier wore the stripes of ‘Day’ making the duo living models of the bottles.

Jean Paul Gaultier follows in the footsteps of designers like Karl Lagerfeld who was Diet Coke‘s designer last year, also adding his signature image to each special edition bottle of his making. Other designers for the brand has included Matthew WilliamsonGianfranco Ferrè,Marni and Roberto Cavalli.

Unlike his predecessors however Gaultier, along with ad campaigns, website content and bottle designs, will also be starring in three promo videos for Diet Coke and you can see the first episode below. Plans have also been announced for a third bottle design called ‘Tattoo’ will be launched later this year. Until then fashion lovers can pick up these bottles at Harvey Nichols nationally from Monday (16th April), including a limited edition glass adorned with the iconic stripes.
